La pantufla hecha de tela de toalla fue uno de los estilos de más éxito y se mantuvo varios años como modelo líder. Pero este mercado es relativamente pequeño y a pesar de exportar hacia Guatemala y Costa Rica, en poco tiempo se había saturado y no parecía muy promisorio para los planes que el Sr. Egan desarrollaba en su mente. Es por eso que para mediados de 1975 Industrias Caricia experimenta una importante transformación, pasa de fabricar pantuflas a fabricar calzado e instala la primera planta de fabricación de zapatos que es una planta diseñada para producir zapatos en dos tipos de fabricación: Stitch – Out y Little Way. Se presentan modelos para niños y para hombres, aunque también se incluyen algunos modelos de sandalias para mujer que se venden en su gran mayoría en el mercado nacional... Con la producción de zapatos Industrias Caricia se inserta en una difícil competencia con las demás fábricas de zapatos nacionales y centroamericanos ya establecidas en la región, algunas de ellas con productos fuertemente posicionados en el mercado salvadoreño. También había que competir con calzado que provenía de fuera de la región.
